The Los Angeles Kings won their first-ever Stanley Cup tonight over the New Jersey Devils.

The Kings cruised to a 6-1 victory to beat the Devils in six games.

Jeff Carter and Trevor Lewis led the Kings with two goals each, while Captain Dustin Brown notched one goal and two assists.

The Kings jumped out to an early lead in the first period, scoring three goals in under five minutes. They followed that up with another goal in the second, and then finally two goals in the third period to seal the victory.

Adam Henrique scored the lone goal for the Devils.

Two local players joined the list of Stanley Cup winners, those being former Michigan State hockey player Mike Donnelly and Grand Ledge native Matt Greene, who scored the Kings' final goal at the end of the game.
